About Makasoff Construction

Makasoff Construction is owned and operated by Mike and Kim Makasoff who one of the most sought after custom home builders in the Vernon area. Since 1987 they have been building some of the best and award winning custom homes and commercial buildings in the North Okanagan.

Mike is a Vernon general contractor and has been a new home builder since 1978.  He started his apprenticeship in 1980 and is now a ticketed Journeyman Carpenter with a Provincial Red Seal.

Mike has had a passion for building homes since he was nine or ten years old and at the young age of thirteen he built his first tree house.

Kim Makasoff is the nails, screws, and glue of the company. Basically she does all the of the work you don’t see, but is important to making everything hold together.

Mike and Kim have been married since 1986 and live in their own custom dream home in the quiet community of Lumby, just east of Vernon. Together they have raised two young men Josh and Jordan, The youngest of which has taken after his father and is now a Ticketed Journeyman.

Mike finds building custom homes very exhilarating as he gets to produce what people can only dream about when it comes to their own dream home. Seeing the joy of the new home owners eyes when they see the final product gives Mike a sense of fulfillment.

Building your new custom home cannot be built by one person alone, rather it requires a highly skilled professional team to craft such a masterpiece. Over the years Mike has befriended some of the best people in the industry that are just as dedicated and passionate as he is about building your new home.
